Turmeric Soap for Glowing Skin | Halal, Handmade | Rose Best

I make this one with turmeric and lemongrass and orange oil so it smells like citrus instead of a spice cabinet. It is the bar I hand people at the market when they tell me their face feels tight after washing.

Scent: Orange and Lemongrass essential oils. A woman at the market smelled this one and asked if I made a wax melt in the same scent. The orange comes forward first, the lemongrass keeps it green underneath. It holds in the bar too. It feels refreshing after a bath.

Cold processed in small batches at my shop in Farmington, Michigan, then air dried for one month. Commercial soap is vat dried, which pulls out the glycerin. Air drying keeps it in the bar. Glycerin is a humectant, so it pulls moisture toward your skin instead of stripping it.

Gentle enough for face and body.

Turmeric is traditionally valued in skincare for helping promote the appearance of brighter, more even looking skin.

Coconut Oil, Olive Oil, Rice Bran Oil, Shea Butter, Sunflower Oil, Cocoa Butter, Castor Oil, Lemongrass Oil, Orange Oil, Turmeric, Calendula Flowers, Sodium Lactate.

Made without palm oil, dye, alcohol, parabens, SLS, or phthalates. Halal ingredients. Vegan and gluten free. Biodegradable.

How to use

Wet your skin, rub the bar on, and lather for a few moments before rinsing with warm water. Store it on a draining dish in a cool spot between uses. A wet bar sitting in a puddle will dissolve in half the time.

Questions

Will the turmeric stain my skin or my washcloth?
No. The turmeric does not stain clothes or skin and rinses clean. 

What is cold process soap?
Oils and butters are combined with lye, which triggers saponification. The lye is fully consumed in that reaction, so there is none left in the finished bar. I cure each batch for four weeks before it goes on the shelf.

Is it gentle enough for sensitive skin?
It is made without parabens, SLS, phthalates, or dye, which covers the most common irritants. Read the full ingredient list first if you have a known allergy.

Can I use it on my face?
Yes. This bar and the facial bar are the two I recommend for face.

What is cold process soap?
Cold process soap combines oils and fats with lye to create soap through saponification, a natural chemical reaction. The lye evaporates during the process. This leads to a gentle soap. We cure the soap for 4 weeks before selling it which helps retain glycerin in the soap, a humectant that brings moisture to your skin. 

Is cold process soap good for your skin?
Yes, cold process soaps are known for being gentler than commercial soaps because they do not contain harsh detergents and help maintain the skin’s natural moisture.

Are your soaps safe for sensitive skin?
Our soaps are made with natural, halal ingredients and are free from parabens, SLS, and phthalates, making them suitable for most skin types.
